What is the quality guarantee of your product?

We have a long discussion section regarding the quality. Again, we will state one more time that any product out of door has zero return rate for the last 7 years. The second largest software publisher, Symantec, contracted us as its authorized replication plant in North America. It is an excellent indicator where we stand for quality.Top

Can I visit the plant and see how the CD and DVD are manufactured?

At your convenience, you are welcome to visit the factory before or the same time you turn in your project. We will show you the entire production process.Top

What is the turn around time?

If it is disc only, it is five working days. If it is a full packaged job, the delivery date will be five or six working days after approval of your artwork for covers and inserts. Digi-pak or CD wallets will be 7 to 8 working days.Top

How should I place order?

There is a order section on our Webpage. Please follow the instruction there. In general, either you need to email us a written order or you have to use one of our formats in online order or custom quote.Top

How we ship?

Isomedia will use Fedex or UPS and charge the cost unless customer wants us use His or Her Fedx or UPS account. Top

Do I get proof or sample for my project?

You will get electronic proof for your artwork day after we receive it. All customers must reply and approve it. Modification can be made by you, but after your approval, no change can be made after 24 hours. Isomedia will make all the efforts to help you modify your artwork as long as it is within the scope of our ability at NO additional charge. We will not provide CD and DVD 5 disc sample except for DVD 9. A check disc will be given if it is requested. For CD and DVD 5, there is $ 50.00 charge for check disc and $ 100.00 for first article.Top

What should I do if my master or artwork has problems?

Isomedia can not fix or repair customers’ masters in general. It is industry rule to assure neutrality for duplication and replication industry. If you can not find or locate your previous technician, we will help at additional charge depending on the scope of the work. However, you will receive a check disc for approval before the production. If you want to save your production time, it will be quicker to go back to the technician who did your original work.Top

Is DDP format acceptable for master?

Yes. However, it is not recommended, because DDP file needs a conversion step in the mastering process. Also, DDP file can not be read by the testing equipment. We need to provide you a check disc to verify and the production process will be slowed dowm. There is an additional cost for check disc, but it will delay the production process for 3 to 4 days.Top

What are the acceptable media for CD and DVD masters?

CD-R Media for CD, but you should submit two copies, preferably, the CD-R are two different brands due to different quality levels of the CD-R manufacturer. For DVD 5 disc, DVD-R or DLT tape are preferred media and all other types need additional work which will delay the production time. For DVD 9 disc, two DLT types with Lay 0 and Lay 1 are the most common format. The second choice is Dual-Layer DVD-R which is quite new form of DVD blank media. For DVD-9 master, if you are not familiar with DVD 9 encoding and authoring, please do not try, consult with Expert.Top

Do you have expertise to help on DVD masters?

Yes. We have encoding and authoring studio. For DVD 5, $ 350.00 per master with check disc plus one modification. For DVD 9, $ 550.00 per master with check disc plus one modification. Each additional modification will be $ 100.00.Top

Can I pick up the product at facility when it is done?

Yes. If you are in a drivable distance, you are welcome to pick up your products to save time and money.Top

What are the most common problems with client designed jobs?

There are several small things that happen when submitting a project that can really slow the process down. We have listed the most common problems below. Of course you can always contact your CSR or Sales Rep for help if you do not understand how to deal with any of these issues. Improper trim size and no allowance for bleed are very common mistakes. See our templates page for the proper sizing of your project. Also see our note in FAQ concerning bleed. These should be reviewed before starting your design process. Image format, Files, Artwork, or Images that are sent to us in a format other than CMYK or Pantone color. The most common incompatible format we see is RGB. ( Nero Labeling Software, CD Label, Stomper Label, Media Face, Power Point, Microsoft Publisher Etc) Please verify that all elements you are including in your project are CMYK or Pantone (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) Please see our note in FAQ concerning CMYK and RGB. Another common error is to size images too small or low resolution. All images should be 300 dpi at 100% of the desired size for the project. We accept file formats that include PDF, TIFF, JPEG, and Photoshop EPS. You can convert these files to a PDF or TIFF format and be certain to include fonts or EPS. We are here to help if you have questions.Top

What is bleed and is there a safety margin around the trim on printed material?

Bleed is extending any color, photo, or design elements past the trim line. Our plant trims printed pieces in stacks of hundreds of sheets at a time. This is much faster than trimming individual pieces, at the cost of a little accuracy. Bleed gives the print shop a margin of error when trimming, so that if the cut is a little off, the white of the paper won't show along the edge. We request you add 1/8-inch of bleed to your layouts. For example if you have an item that will be trimmed to 4.75 x 4.75 then you would want to add 1/8 to all sides for bleed, making the final art size approximately 5.0 x 5.0 . Each template has guidelines set up so you can see exactly how much bleed you need to add to your layouts. These are generally the outermost guides. Safety margin is the opposite of bleed. If you put important information such as a song title or an important part of a photo right up against the crop line, some of it may get cut off. We recommend that you keep your type and other important elements 1/8-inch inside the trim line. Each template has guidelines set up so you can see exactly how much safety margin to allow. These are generally the innermost guides. In the example of an item trimmed to 4.75 x 4.75 the safety margin would be approximately 4.5 x 4.5.No. CDs are much more forgiving than DVDs but problems can exist. The most common mistake we see is when a client formats the CD on a computer and does not use settings that will allow the CD to operate on a standard CD player (like the one in your car). The best way to avoid this kind of problem is to try the disc out in several different machines before sending it to us and have an industry professional review your CD to confirm it is formatted correctly before sending it to us. We need Digital Audio Format.Top

Get an error message and cannot upload my design?

Most probably there is a problem with the file containing the design that you are trying to upload. It is recommended that you save your design in another file format and try to upload the newly saved file. Top

Does a slow computer keep me from using this site?
